Mauritius sponsors the International Fiscal Association (IFA).The 13th Mauritius International Fiscal Association (IFA) Asia/Africa conference was recently held at the Sofitel Hotel in Flic en Flac on the 9th & 10th of May 2019. Rogers Capital was proud to be involved in the event this year as an Associate Sponsor. Launched in 2004, IFA Mauritius has already organized seven regional conferences which encompass presentations by international tax experts, planning ideas and discussing issues of current importance. The manner that the IFA brings together Africa and Asia makes it a truly unique conference. The 13th Mauritius International Fiscal Association (IFA) Asia/Africa conference rallied a diverse set of both local and foreign panelists with representatives of the OECD, IFA Central, IBFD amongst others working to make the event a productive one. The themes that were examined were • BEP’s Action 5 – The Substance Conundrum • BEP’s Action 1 – Would consensus be reached? Over the course of the two-day conference many topics relating to the above were analyzed including the taxation of the digital economy, substance requirements, the role of Mauritius in addressing harmful tax practices, and why Mauritius should evolve towards servicing High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) as well as the positive contribution of International Financial Centers (IFCs). Rogers Capital is your trusted business partner. We enable you to access the many benefits that Mauritius offers as an investment platform into different regions notably those in Africa and Asia.
